Medical Billing Services
SMMR will assume all functions required including: patient registration and charge entry, electronically file insurance for all carriers who accept electronic claims, post all lockbox receipts* and provide information from the lockbox.
SMMR handles all patient and insurance phone calls (our phone number will print on your bills and insurance forms). We will research problems and refile claims as necessary, call on all overdue claims to get them resolved on a regular basis. We will bill patients monthly and perform pre-collection activities until a patient has not responded to a final notice before turning such accounts over to the physician’s office for resolution.
* SMMR requires a lockbox system - SMMR will not handle actual monies. We will assist in setting up these systems, if necessary for your practice, and will work with your current bank(s) .
Supplemental Services
In addition to these daily functions, SMMR will balance batches, provide month-end reporting to suit the individual practice manager’s, physician’s, and accountant’s needs. We will help reconcile with the bank as required and provide a multitude of information by request (special reports provided by the computer) at no extra cost. We can assist in obtaining provider numbers and insurance credentialing for new physicians and/or insurance carriers in the practice. We will provide feedback on your fee schedule and your CPT coding as well as update your system when CPT and ICD-9 changes occur. As insurance changes occur, SMMR will make the required changes and educate your staff to ensure the effectiveness of the whole system.
Training
SMMR will train and support your staff on “clean” submissions. We provide on-site training and assistance to get your office up and running smoothly.
Software Solutions
SMMR offers both Misys and Allscripts practice management systems software products. We use these leading edge products as part of our billing solutions. We provide implementation and training services for these products to help you and your staff become familiar with the front office functions such as appointment scheduling, patient registration, and account inquiry, while our experienced staff fulfill all or part of your back office billing functions to best fit your needs.
EHR
SMMR also offers full project management, implementation, and training services for Misys EMR and Allscripts EHR products. Our EHR staff is certified in both products and has 8 years of experience implementing electronic chart software; as well as hands on clinical and practice management expertise. As Certified Business Partners for Misys and Allscripts we can provide your EHR via a monthly subscription-based model, or a web-based model, both of which include customization, implementation, training and ongoing product support.
Credentialing
Our credentialing department offers assistance for physicians registering with the government and commercial insurance enrollment process. The expertise of our credentialing representatives helps ensure a timely flow of insurance payments for our clients. Additional services are also completed at the clients' request such as hospital privilege re-appointment, physical location or remittance changes.

A/R Collections
Research of patient balances, self pay letters, Medicaid coverage review and courtesy calls on older balances are the tools regularly used to aggressively seek payment from patients holding delinquent balances with the client’s office.
